Your puppy will learn how to properly and appropriately play with dogs of different sizes and breeds. We will conclude the event with Pass the Puppy which socializes your puppy to a variety of people and handling.
Properly socialize your puppy in a safe, secure, and sanitized environment. One aspect of puppy socialization is learning appropriate play with other puppies.
During this playgroup session, owners will learn how to:
- Read dog body language
- Identify appropriate play
- Identify a variety of play styles
- Set their puppy up for success
- Be proactive instead of reactive
Puppies should come with a flat collar or harness and a regular non-retractable leash.
Please bring a copy of vaccination records or scan them to your instructor; required – current on age appropriate vaccinations: (1-2) set of DAP or equivalent (DHPP), recommended – Bordetella shots.

Please know,
While group play is great, it’s not for every dog. Your puppy may not benefit from or may not be appropriate for group play if they have a history of:
- Biting people or other animals
- Displaying reactivity, such as barking, lunging, or growling at other dogs or people
- Excessive fear or timidness of new people or situations
- Being easily over aroused/overstimulated by new situations
If any of these behaviors are seen in your puppy, it can be concerning, please contact us for a private training session immediately.
Dogs who exhibit the above are not bad dogs! These behaviors are inappropriate and incompatible with a group training setting. If these behaviors are displayed, your trainer may deem it necessary to ask you to leave class and seek private training. Your membership will be placed on hold until you have completed the proper private training needed. If you have questions about your dog’s eligibility, please contact Caitlin at 843-329-1568.
