About No Kill South Carolina
How Big is the Challenge in South Carolina?
“No Kill” means every healthy and treatable animal is saved. It’s clear we have a long way to go. We know healthy and treatable animals are being euthanized every day. Unfortunately accurate and comprehensive shelter data just doesn’t exist, though we do have some estimates. The ASPCA reports that 7.3 million dogs and cats enter US animal shelters every year, and that 2.6 million of those are euthanized. In South Carolina, we have some data that indicates live release rate at SC shelters may be about 65-75% but currently there is no way to know for sure.
We can’t do it without your support. All the money raised will go to help shelters around South Carolina in the No Kill South Carolina effort. Thank you for your donation!
