Classroom Presentations

We'll bring the shelter to you!

The Charleston Animal Society can bring our humane and character education lessons to your educational setting.  We can tailor our programs for all age groups with state standard lessons focusing on issues such as:

  • Safety Around Animals
  • Role of the Shelter in the Community - what does Charleston Animal Society do?
  • Responsible Pet Care
  • Careers with Animals
  • Pet Overpopulation
  •  and more.

If there is something specific you would like us to cover, please let us know and we would be happy to do so.  We bring a temperament approved dog with us to help teach the lessons and let the students meet .

Contact our Director of Humane Education, De Daltorio,  to set up a possible visit!

School assemblies are available in addition to classroom presentations.  The human educator will present using an interactive powerpoint presentation along with a canine ambassador.  The school will need to supply the laptop and projector/screen.  Topics to discuss are but not limited to:  Dog bite prevention, compassion for people and animals, role of the shelter in the community & overpopulation.
