Shelter Tours

Take a break from the classroom for a new experience

Educational tours of the Charleston Animal Society provide a unique opportunity for all ages to learn about the role of an animal shelter in the community while providing guidance on responsible pet care and animal welfare issues.  Most tours last approximately 45 minutes and animal encounters cannot be guaranteed and are based on animals available at the time of the tour.  This is the perfect way for students to see how a shelter operation works from start to finish.  A visit to the shelter will spark a new understanding and compassion for animals as well as possible career paths!

These programs are free of charge.  Donations to help offset the costs of providing these valuable learning opportunities are greatly appreciated.  Contact De Daltorio, Director of Humane Education to set up a visit!
