Summer B.A.R.K. (Be Aware, Responsible & Kind) Camp fees include all materials, activities & lessons. Each day lots of animal interaction with our adoptable animals, games, crafts, & guest speakers! Each campers receives a reusable water bottle, canvas bag & camp T-shirt. Due to allergy restrictions, lunch will not be provided. Please bring a sack lunch.

This academic camp provides a wonderful introduction to veterinary medicine and is a perfect step for any high school student interested in a career in this field. Classroom time will be balanced with opportunities for observation and involvement at Charleston Animal Society's medical clinic and hands-on work with our shelter animals. High School students will be doing physical exams on animals, learning how to read X-rays, watching surgeries, performing dissections, managing disease and much more!

Raining Cats and Dogs - June 17-21 Camp Filled!

Are you a dog or cat lover? Then this camp is for you! Each day will feature information, crafts and interactive guest speakers about dogs and cats. Animal interaction with CAS dogs and cats galore! What more could you want to have all these fluffy, 4 legged friends to hang out with all week? Learn about cat & dog body language, create enrichment items for the animals, play games and meet new friends.

Sometimes younger children forget how to care for and handle their pets. Animal Care Camp builds self esteem and nurtures compassion by developing an understanding of the shelter environment and a respect for all animals. Program activities include lessons in animal safety and handling. Songs and movement as well as arts and crafts will help teach lessons in caring. Guest speakers will hold the young child's attention while teaching them all about animals.

WILD ABOUT ANIMALS - JULY 8-12 camp filled!

Learn about wild animals! Speakers will focus on animals that are indigenous to South Carolina. Learn how to preserve habitats and live in harmony with nature. We won't forget about our shelter animals, plenty of animal interaction this week! Campers will help the shelter animals as well.

ABC's of CAS - July 15-19 Camp filled!

What does the Charleston Animal Society do? Do we have only dogs and cats? What help do we give an animal when it comes into the shelter? Campers will learn the answers to these questions and many, many more! Campers will learn what makes CAS "tick" and get to know the adorable animals. Get a behind the scene look at our shelter. Help us get our animals adopted and learn about animal control, meet some adorable foster animals, create some fun enrichment items for the animals, play games, and meet new friends!

Veterinary Animal Advocate- July 22-26 camp filled!

Are you interested in veterinary medicine but not sure you want to be a vet? Do you like to interact with animals? This camp we touch on real life animal issues. This is a transitional camp for those thinking of being a veterinarian but not ready to commit to the intense veterinary science path of our vet camp. We will do activities associated with being a veterinarian like physical exams on animals, learning about and watching spay/neuter surgeries but also helping some of the animals on the adoption floor get adopted.

Do you want a small pet? Are you interested in unusual pets? Well, this is the week for you! We will learn about caring for small pets, birds and even some exotic animals. Guest visitors are amazing and unusual. We certainly won't forget our shelter animals either! Animal time with our shelter pets as well as playing games, making enrichment items for the animals and don't forget about meeting new friends!

Pet Partners at Work - August 5-9 Camp filled!
ages 12-15

Campers will focus on helping the CAS adoption center animals by choosing a cat or dog to work with all week and then trying to help that pet get adopted. Projects will focus on service, and guest speakers will explore service animals, animal control and safety. Campers will learn about pet issues, use their communication skills to advertise their animal to be adopted and have fun making new friends!
