Volunteer Requirements
All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and orientation. Once the application has been returned to the Charleston Animal Society you will be contacted via email within one week with upcoming orientation dates.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age. Children between the ages of 10-17 may volunteer with the supervision of a parent or guardian. Both the parent/guardian and the child are required to complete the volunteer orientation.
To volunteer in the back of the shelter with the stray animals you must be a trained volunteer, active for 6 months and 18 years of age. Stray animal volunteers are also required to attend a separate training.
